Lobos knock Waco Midway out of playoffs for second straight year by a mere point... For the second straight year, a controversial call made the difference in a playoff win over Waco Midway.  The only difference is that this year, the controversial call wasn't made by the officials, it was made by the Midway coaching staff.  The Panthers scored with 3:45 left in the game to get within a point of the Lobos, 14-13.  Longview was then called for an offside penalty--probably the best penalty of the year for Longview because it convinced the Waco Midway coaching staff to go for the two point conversion from the one yard line. That's when the capacity Lobo crowd stood with excitement as Waco Midway attempted a two-point conversion to go up by a point.  Midway QB Ryan Smith took the snap, handing the ball off to Midway RB Marc Martinez, who was stuffed at the two yard line by the Lobo defense. Longview was then able to run the clock out after driving the field and taking a knee.
