David Ashley has been a member of the Longview High School coaching staff since 2006 and serves as tight ends coach. 

During his time with the Lobos, he has helped develop one of Texas' premier high school football programs, including the 2018 Class 6A Division II state championship team. He also teaches social studies at Longview High School.

Ashley graduated from Mangham High School in Louisiana in 1988 before earning a bachelor's degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1993. His coaching career includes stops at Bakers High School, Crowley High School, Delhi High School, Ouachita Parish High School, Kaplan High School, Basile High School and Plaquemine High School before joining the Longview coaching staff in 2006.
