Longview held on for a 48-27 win against Rockwall-Heath Oct. 16 to improve to 4-0 in district play. It was Heath's first district loss this season.

Longview stopped Rockwall on fourth down with 17 seconds left to secure a 56-49 win Friday after a wild back-and-forth game. Lawson Tubbs knocked down a fourth-down pass to end Rockwall’s final drive and preserve the victory. The teams combined for 105 points, and Rockwall rallied from a 15-point deficit to tie the game at 49 late in the fourth quarter.

Longview opened district play with its second-straight victory Sept. 25 at Royse City.

Longview opened District 10-6A play on a winning note Friday night, defeating North Forney at Lobo Stadium. The Lobos improved to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in district play with the victory. North Forney dropped to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in district.

Fans attending Longview High School home football games at Lobo Stadium should plan ahead this season as several usual parking areas are unavailable because of ongoing bond construction projects at LHS. Campus-area parking is expected to fill quickly on game days. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and review the Lobo Stadium and campus-area parking map before heading to the stadium.

Longview pushed No. 1 Ruston deep into the fourth quarter Friday night before the Bearcats pulled away late for a 36-22 victory at Hoss Garrett Stadium. The Lobos were within one point, 23-22, entering the fourth quarter and had a chance to take the lead after recovering a Ruston fumble with about 10 minutes remaining. Ruston’s defense held, however, and the Bearcats scored twice in the final six minutes to secure the win.

Longview rolled to a 61-13 victory against Marshall Sept. 4 with Trey Hamilton passing for four touchdowns in the first half.

The Longview ISD Board of Trustees officially approved the name Trent Williams Multipurpose Indoor Facility during its meeting Monday night, recognizing one of Longview High School's most accomplished alumni. Longview High School coaches John King and Oscar Wilson were recognized Saturday by the Texas High School Coaches Association during the organization's Hall of Honor banquet at the George R.
