GREEN OUT SET FOR FRIDAY AS LOBOS HOST MARSHALL IN HOME OPENER

Longview will celebrate its annual Green Out on Friday, Sept. 4, when the Lobos host longtime rival Marshall in the 2026 home opener at Lobo Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
Fans wearing an official 2026 Green Out shirt are invited onto the field before the game to help form the Big Green Victory Line as the Lobos make their pregame entrance.
Longview enters the matchup 1-0 after opening the season with a dominant 59-7 road victory over Lufkin on Aug. 28. The Lobos raced to a 38-0 halftime lead and held the Panthers to just 6 yards of total offense in the first half.
Longview finished with 423 yards of total offense, led by quarterback Johnny Hamilton, who passed for 176 yards and a touchdown while adding 107 yards and another score on the ground. Seven different Lobos scored in the victory.
Marshall enters the game 0-1 after falling to Tyler, 42-27, in its season opener. The Mavericks rallied from an early deficit and pulled within one point in the second half before Tyler regained control.
Friday’s game will mark the 116th meeting between Longview and Marshall. The Lobos lead the all-time series, 68-42-5, and won last season’s meeting, 20-7.
Longview has won 10 straight games against Marshall and 24 of the last 25 meetings.
Marshall’s last victory in the series came in 2015, while the Mavericks have not won at Lobo Stadium since 1998.
