Trey Hamilton threw four touchdown passes in the first half as Longview raced to a 48-7 halftime lead and rolled past longtime rival Marshall, 61-13, Friday night at Lobo Stadium.
The victory improved Longview to 2-0 and gave the Lobos their 11th consecutive win over the Mavericks.
Hamilton and the Longview offense wasted little time taking control in the Lobos' home opener, piling up 48 points before halftime.
Hamilton accounted for four of the first-half scores through the air as Longview took a commanding 41-point advantage into the locker room.
The win continued Longview's recent dominance in one of the oldest rivalries in Texas high school football.
Friday marked the 116th meeting between the schools in a series that dates to 1909.
Longview now leads the all-time series 69-42-5.
The Lobos have also won 25 of the past 26 meetings, with Marshall's only victory during that stretch coming in 2015.
Longview entered Friday's game following a 59-7 season-opening victory over Lufkin at Abe Martin Stadium.
Longview will hit the road next week for an interstate matchup against Ruston on Friday, Sept. 11, in Ruston, Louisiana.
