Longview wrapped up its preseason work Thursday, Aug. 21, with a scrimmage against Texas High and will now turn its attention to the 2026 season opener.
The Lobos will travel to Lufkin to face the Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at John Outlaw Memorial Field at Abe Martin Stadium. Purchase tickets online here.
The matchup will mark the 89th meeting between the longtime East Texas opponents. Longview won last season’s meeting 41-16.
Friday’s game will also mark the final time the Lobos are scheduled to play at Abe Martin Stadium.
The longtime home of the Panthers is set to be demolished following the season as Lufkin ISD prepares to construct a new stadium following voter approval of a district bond proposal.
