John Berry serves as Longview High School's defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. 

He returned to the Lobos in 2020 after six seasons as head football coach and athletic director at Gladewater High School, where he compiled a 47-25 record and led the Bears to five playoff appearances. Berry previously spent 10 seasons on Longview's coaching staff from 2000-10 before returning to the program.

Berry attended Northeast Louisiana University. His coaching career began at West Monroe Middle School in 1986 and includes stops at Ridge Academy, Oak Grove High School, West Ouachita High School and Ouachita High School in Louisiana before joining the Longview coaching staff in 2000.
