Josh Rankin serves as Longview High School's special teams coordinator and safeties coach. 

He joined the Lobos coaching staff in 2020 after coaching stops at Southern Arkansas University, Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School, Kingsville King High School, Haltom High School, Texas High School and Hallsville High School. 

In 2026, Rankin was selected to the inaugural Texas 50, recognizing the state's top assistant football coaches for excellence in player development, leadership and community impact.

Rankin is a graduate of Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School and attended Southern Arkansas University, where he began his coaching career as a graduate assistant before entering the Texas high school coaching ranks.
