Oscar Wilson has been a member of the Longview High School coaching staff since 1979 and serves as assistant head coach and running backs coach. During more than four decades with the Lobos, he has helped build one of Texas' premier high school football programs while coaching generations of student-athletes. 

In 2026, Wilson received the prestigious Tom Landry Award from the Texas High School Coaches Association in recognition of his outstanding contributions to Texas high school football and his leadership as a mentor. He also served as Longview's interim head coach during the 2025 season while John King underwent medical treatment.

A graduate of H.B. Pemberton High School in Marshall, Wilson earned a bachelor's degree from East Texas State University in 1974 and a Master of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1986. 

Before joining Longview, he coached at Pittsburg High School, Marshall High School, Hallsville High School and Forest Park Middle School.
